Here is how I solved these problems:

1. There was no mention of Social Q&A other than the drop down button at the top of the page that allowed a user to post a question.
   I brought Social Q&A forward in two areas. First, I split out the "Create New" drop down button into two separate buttons, "Create an Article" and "Post a Question." Second, I added metadata to each of the cards, "# Articles and # Questions." I wanted to create a section below where Featured, Most Useful and Most Viewed articles appeared that was directly related to Q&A, but we were not able to do so for this release. As a half step to doing this, I added an icon next to the article as well as put metadata below the article title. If Q&A appeared here, you would see an icon related specifically to that as well as metadata that further clarified the difference between an article and a question.

2. Misplaced home button in the header
   I got rid of the home button from the homepage because it didn't make sense to be on the homepage.
   
   
3. Import button gave no description of what a user would import. If a user clicked on this button a finder window would open without context of what to import
   Changed the button name to "Import Articles." When a user clicks on the button, a modal window appears that gives further context. A user can drag and drop files to this area, select a KB category and sub category, and the ability to publish directly from here.
   
   
4. The cards took up a lot of real estate without any return in value
   Compacted the card view height and added metadata to each card for a little insight into how many articles and questions a user can find in each knowledge base.

Here is how I solved these problems:

1. There was no obvious way to see the difference between an article and a question or question type
   I revealed the drop down sort option in a tab approach. A user can filter results based on all, answers or questions. I added significance to the question icons. A grey question icon means that there are no answers to the question. An orange question icon with slightly different treatment means that a question is answered but is not yet marked the correct answer. A green question icon with a check mark means that a question is both answered and accepted as correct.
   
   
2. Filtering on articles and questions was hidden in a drop down input field
   I revealed the filter view within a tab structure next to the search results title. This allows a user to easily see what is selected and what other options are available.
   
   
3. It is difficult to tell what search results a user is looking at
   By adding a title to the top of the search results, it helped users quickly identify what they have searched for.
